2 Waterfalls in Bohol, Tagbilaran that shouldn’t be missed
Bohol – island which has to offer a lot, starting with tarsiers, chocolate hills and finishing with waterfalls and beaches by the sea. There are 2 waterfalls which shouldn’t be missed if you stay in Tagbilaran or Panglao island. Of course, there are plenty of waterfalls on the island, but most of them are more far away from Tagbilaran and wouldn’t be suitable for half day trip.
Kawasan falls in Bohol
These falls are located about 20~ kilometers from Tagbilaran. When I visited them (November 2017) there were constructions on the road and there was additional 4 kilometers to reach Kawasan falls. These falls are not so beautiful in photos as they are in reality! They are huge and super beautiful when you see them. So if you are somewhere around – don’t miss the chance to see them.
Near Kawasan falls you can also rent beautiful cottages for 100 pesos. To reach the waterfalls you will need to go down the stairs, so it may not be suitable for wheelchairs.
💲Entrance fee for Kawasan Falls: 20 pesos

Bohol waterfalls – Mag Aso Falls
Probably the closest falls to Tagbilaran city – Mag Aso Falls in Bohol island. They are located about 18 kilometers from the city of Tagbilaran. Easiest way to reach them is by rented scooter, then you can stay there for as long as you like and you don’t have to pay taxi driver for waiting.
To reach the falls you will need to go down by the stairs (about 200 of them!) and there are 2 entrance fees – first one for using the road and second one to enter the falls. Both of them are pretty small – 10-20 pesos per person. It is possible to jump from the cliffs into the water, just be careful! There is a public table where you can make a small picnic if it is not occupied.
